金管局昨日宣布將開展「數碼港元」工作。東亞銀行（23）資訊科技部主管暨金融科技發展部主管梁兆恩表示，明白「數碼港元」的要求，該行將更專注於第二軌道的工作，包括與業界、合作夥伴研究應用場景。他亦指，「數碼港元」仍處於很初步的階段，銀行業界會先了解相關技術、風險管理等。

此外，東亞銀行設立BEAST，推動該行與本地初創企業以及業界夥伴之間的創新和協作。梁兆恩指，BEAST代表「東亞銀行+初創企業」的互動協作。迄今，該行與香港70多個本地初創企業，以及業界和金融科技界夥伴正在共同開發73個項目。

他透露，其中有6個項目已經推出，涉及雲科技技術、網絡安全等，有10個項目已通過概念認證（POC）並即將推出，7個項目正處於POC驗證階段中。

該行亦於觀塘東亞銀行中心設立實體的共享空間BEAST，為初創企業提供共享空間，亦為東亞銀行員工提供一個與初創企業合作的平台。梁兆恩表示，與東亞銀行進行POC的項目夥伴將會獲該行邀請進駐BEAST，並免收租金。成功通過POC驗證的項目將得到由東亞銀行提供高達30萬元的資金支持，而其項目將在該行開展。BEAST亦能使初創企業通過東亞銀行的網絡，進一步開拓大灣區的商機。(sc)
